Illustration on a pink ground of a tangle of black lines surrounded by words such as fear, anger, jealousy, and frustration, with the phrase do not stay trapped in your emotions. Below, a small figure runs along a line towards the phrase there is a way out of everything.

Gentle guidance, in a warm and calm setting, to

  1. welcome pain and give it shape
  2. strengthen self-confidence
  3. stimulate fragile memory
  4. learn to manage anxiety
  5. care for emotional wounds
  6. find balance and well-being again
  7. turn anger into creative energy

What art therapy is

Art therapy uses artistic creation as a space for expression, listening, and transformation. The result does not matter; the process does: what happens while you cut, glue, paint, or shape.

Through the creative process, it becomes possible to:

  • give shape to emotions;
  • pass through moments of fragility;
  • strengthen personal resources;
  • express yourself without needing to know how to draw;
  • communicate even without words;
  • find new ways to tell your story and to transform.

Creating thus becomes a gesture of care, of repair, and of transformation.

The tangle

Emotions sometimes knot together like a ball of yarn: fear, anger, shame, jealousy, and frustration. Inside the tangle, there seems to be no way out. Creative work helps you find the end of the thread and follow it, one point at a time, until it becomes a line that runs freely again.

There is a way out of everything.

How it works

The path can be individual or shared.

  • Individual sessions, in person at the studio in Neuchâtel or by video.
  • Group workshops, where people create together and support one another.
  • Programmes with institutions, designed for places that welcome people in fragile situations.

No artistic experience is needed. The materials are simple and often salvaged, just like in the works of Agile-Fragile.

Who it is for

This guidance is for anyone looking for meaning and transformation: fragile young people, adults in crisis, and older people who need to be heard. Through the Agile-Fragile project, art also enters the most fragile places, such as prisons, hospitals, and workshops with women who have lived through trauma.
